![]() ![]() As Evanston is the only city in the country that has passed a reperations ordinance. As well as the reparations bill which only applies to this Zenleaf location. Its better than the Zenleaf location in Rogers Park for both staff and debit reasons. With Zenleaf as the sole dispensary. This and the option to use debit (for all its faults) is what keeps me coming back to the location. Although the city of Evanston is falling short of its goals. I can speak to their new one as Im not signed up.A major plus for the Evanston location is that the city of Evanston has pledged to give $10mil in cannabis tax dollars to those most affected by the war on drugs over a 10yr period. Their medical program couldve changed since then.Their old rewards program was also very good. Opening up the medical buying option to all doctors would be a solid move and detract from concerns about MDs having a relationship more with dispensaries than with their patients. That exchange was last year. Customers may not trust their medical information to a doctor they see once, who is merely a rubber stamp. People who dont like the mental effects of cannabis may not want to use it so much that its worth the time and effort to schedule the appointment. Including scraping the cash for an upfront payment to niche doctor, in order to save money over time. This can be problematic for a few reasons. When inquiring about how to become a medical customer and what documentation is needed from my physician, I was told theres just a handout for cannabis doctors whos sole purpose is to prescribe cannabis. Its always best to know what your total should be before buying to alleviate concerns about overdrafting an account, or carrying unnecessary singles, and now quarters. Its also not the best for customers treating medical conditions. ![]() This can result in confusion on the part of customers and staff alike. They used to round their price totals to the nearest dollar but shifted to rounding to the nearest quarter. They do this because they masquerade as an ATM on billing statements, and ATMs dont dispense singles. This includes rounding up to $5 increments and giving dollars back as change, and also an $3 atm surcharge applied to the purchase total. The debit option utilizes a loophole in federal law to exist. Occasionally there are errors but they always are quick to run to the back to get the right order.Theres issues with using debit. The staff is always friendly and makes sure to take time to understand the orders placed online. When I paid for the cartridge I gave them the full amount of it’s worth not “ less than half “ it’s value worth. The product was defective and stopped working. Not partially used, half way used, or almost used. As replacement credits come directly from the cultivator, we will not be able to provide a replacement credit at this time.” I paid full price for a cartridge to be used in full. The cultivator is unable to give credit due to the product being more than half used. ![]() I followed it did everything I was told, to get back an email with the response “ Unfortunately, the cultivator will not be able to provide a replacement credit for this specific inquiry. I was given a business card with contact information explaining the process of an issue with a purchase. I came back with the disposable cartridge, receipt, and container. However, I purchased a Verano brand disposable cartridge that stopped working half way it’s use. I always have a good experience purchasing items and talking to the staff. Zen Leaf has been my to go dispensary since Illinois passed the recreational use bill.
